has decreed that the death penalty is
inadmissible under all circumstances and the
00:00:57
Catholic Church should
campaign to abolish it it's
00:01:00
a change in church teaching that could
influence Catholic politicians and judges in
00:01:05
the U.S. And across the globe that it
can spokesman Greg Burke I think it's
00:01:09
a message to all Catholics Let's go back
to to what it means to respect life at all
00:01:15
times and in all cases but of
globally I think it also does send
00:01:19
a message now it's it's
00:01:20
a message that's not particularly new it
says today in the in the change brought to
00:01:26
the catechism that the church will look
to its opposition will work for its
00:01:29
opposition but the fact of the matter is
John Paul the 2nd 20 years ago called for
00:01:35
the abolition of the death penalty the
change announced Thursday has was hailed by
00:01:39
an anti death penalty activists and
scorned by Francis frequent conservative

Been. Hearing but. He had no. Property.
00:03:47
Number Mendez Democratic Republic of
Congo's information minister and commissar
00:03:52
countries agreed to use I.C.T.

To promote trade and business among
themselves Those stories plus or minus force
00:04:00
and I will listen of the day are
coming up on DAYBREAK Africa.
00:04:09
Eminent Magog war has now really want them
Bob was presidential election getting
00:04:14
just 50.8 percent of the vote of Fisher
said on Friday 4 days after the historic
00:04:19
poll the 1st in decades without long time
president Robert Mugabe on the ballot the
00:04:25
announcement came after 4 tense days there
solve violent opposition protests in the
00:04:30
capital Harare resulting in the
death of 6 people both the May
00:04:37
presidential rivals claim victory shortly
after Monday's vote and defeated
00:04:42
opposition candidate Nelson Chamisa says
he will challenge the result which has
00:04:47
parted says is fake viewers need
00:04:50
a powerful reports from Finally the result
has been waiting for not just for the 4
00:04:55
days since this pivotal poll but for
decades under the rule of the increasingly
00:05:00
authoritarian leader Robert Mugabe
Zimbabwe electoral commission chairwoman
00:05:04
Priscilla trick announced the win
just before 1 am local time.
00:05:11
Zanu P.F.
00:05:12
2460463 votes 50.8 percent.
00:05:21
Of the votes received
by my. Party more than
00:05:28
half the number of votes cast in the
presidential election therefore. All of
00:05:35
the party is therefore Julie declared elected
president of the Republic of Zimbabwe
00:05:42
with effect from the 3rd of August
28th. What the ruling party
00:05:49
candidate who took power in November
after the military led push from
00:05:52
a got his resignation now faces
the challenge of ruling by
00:05:56
a razor thin mandate while trying to fix
an ailing economy wounded by years of
00:06:01
mismanagement fractured international
relations and the distrustful population that
00:06:06
has been clamoring for change both sides
it claimed victory shortly after Election
00:06:11
Day And as the results were announced
a man who identified himself as
00:06:14
a spokesman for chimney says Movement for
Democratic Change took the stage and made
00:06:18
his own announcement the man
identified by journalists as M.D.C.
00:06:22
Spokesman Morgan Kmita he was ushered out
by security. Matters that would mean that
00:06:27
I am as it could be very bad but I
was. Really upset I'm going to have.
00:06:36
That is that I was. Very flattered
by the. Earlier in the evening
00:06:43
Chamisa told journalists he was convinced
he had won he also accused Magog was side
00:06:48
of manipulating the poll and said he was
not interested in the unity government you
00:06:53
can't begin election. And you want
00:06:56
a venue that is the basis of engagement
deception and discipline Jimmie's the
00:07:01
handily won in the capital Harare by a
large margin and with more than half
00:07:05
a 1000000 votes his popularity here was
evident in the months leading up to the
00:07:09
poll his Ferrari rallies were exuberant and
well attended and on Wednesday hundreds
00:07:14
of his supporters thronged the election
commission demanding the release of results
00:07:19
protesters threw rocks as police fired
back with tear gas and water cannon later
00:07:24
army vehicles rolled through the streets
and soldiers were seen beating and
00:07:27
shooting at pedestrians police said 6
people were killed and 14 wounded at the
00:07:32
streets of central Harare
usually a hive of activity in
00:07:35
a snarl of traffic were eerily quiet there
are states soldiers and police manned
00:07:39
the streets and told shopkeepers to close
early and go home police also surrounded
00:07:45
opposition headquarters in central Harare
ratcheting up the tension even more Jimmy
00:07:50
said he planned to challenge the outcome
but in the courts not in the streets I do
00:07:55
a lot of things within the confines of
legality and the prosecution is for me as
00:08:00
a woman to make sure that we defend
and protect. For the 1st time
00:08:07
in nearly 4 decades and
Bob boy has elected
00:08:10
a president who is not Robert Mugabe but
will this change bring hope or despair and
00:08:15
you to Paul VI news Harari. The bubble
opposition Movement for Democratic Change
00:08:20
M.D.C.
00:08:21
Alliance is from going to challenge in
court the country's presidential election
00:08:24
results announced early Friday morning
on the ground the vote was fraudulent
00:08:29
incumbent President Emma
same Agoglia were declared
00:08:32
a winner with 50.8 percent
of the vote while M.D.C.
00:08:35
Nelson Chamisa came 2nd with 44.3 percent
of the vote Zimbabwean political analysts
00:08:41
rejoicing way Young says time is up perform
well in the presidential race but says
00:08:48
whatever mess so both sides may choose
to express their emotions he hopes it
00:08:52
doesn't lead to further violence.
Shocking because if you look at the
00:08:58
parliamentary election and not one
number go on leading by far the widely
00:09:05
be able to declare
00:09:06
a majority of the presidential race the
margin are very very close probably just
00:09:13
under 2 $100000.00 They're about that
which really shows that. What they're
00:09:20
if wrongly any division will rejoice what
is so nothing Chamisa say and the M.D.C.
00:09:27
Alliance what it is saying now their argument
against is that you know they retain
00:09:32
that coming from the problem do not
reflect the true picture of the numbers
00:09:39
that we submitted its national level they
probably have information that we don't
00:09:44
have but like I wanted insisted that if
you look at the compilation at one level
00:09:50
that is the kind of agent it would
really mean that never on time is
00:09:54
a waste of course because we
have to prove that we live in
00:09:59
a form that will find at what level you
North County we boarded the guys that were
00:10:04
prevented it makes me a live look which
would make sense because I'll give
00:10:08
a simple example Genpact to read with the
blood minus 30000 voters was showing an
00:10:15
exit of 85000 to one. Or is that
a no money compounded across
00:10:21
a number of constituents. We put a
commitment I've been talking about might be
00:10:27
a justification for
00:10:29
a litigation rejoice Mashona land
province was the last that the elections
00:10:34
commission counted we understand
that is the stronghold from
00:10:39
a president Robert Mugabe So you say that
nothing that did well in this than a P.F.
00:10:46
Stronghold I believe strongly. Affected
because we are so you know we would be
00:10:53
wrong entrenched tradition around
then appear with it given it was
00:10:58
a confident Mugabe not to come out
of. A vote of appreciation rejoice
00:11:05
as they bring this Friday morning in Zimbabwe
what are the people expecting in the
00:11:10
country well of an hour want to shy away
from my or an expectation then assuming
00:11:17
that you know for those in need on
people that voted to me said the young
00:11:23
people that it failed to
lead vote there will be
00:11:27
a lot of. Trepidation and to be back with
the city again is going to be starting
00:11:34
to. Work our crating really take it and
of course the public media and state
00:11:40
controlled media would be screaming
headline one member go are. All still
00:11:47
a great story the strong the only thing
that it was simply that they didn't know
00:11:53
any of the. Rejoice when yes
is in bubbling political
00:11:59
analysts who are speaking with me from
the capital Harare You're listening to
00:12:04

00:19:47
To promote Street and business among
themselves I mean. Uganda's Minister for Trade
00:19:54
and Commerce says in Britain digitalization
will help much of the 21 member
00:19:59
countries to save money and time.
Reports from Kampala Uganda minister
00:20:06
but it too generous in
00:20:07
a couple of THIS WEEK that. To make
electronic payments and online she says this
00:20:13
will necessitate is
00:20:14
a communication and my sense across the
region who are not income and expenses who
00:20:20
are doing business among themselves.
00:20:30
And see. How many.
00:20:37
Things this thing. This so we are getting
that portal so that anybody what sense is
00:20:42
that information at that point that the
Internet would know where to get what and
00:20:47
what point the Komisar free trade area
stretches from Tunisia land and was formed
00:20:52
in December mentally deformed repressing
the preferential trade area or P.T.
00:20:57
Which existed since $981.00 with
00:21:00
a population of over $500000000.00 people
Komisar is what over $700000000000.00 of
00:21:05
G.D.P.
00:21:06
Comprising of the one member countries
of the Tunisia and Somalia were recently
00:21:10
added My turns across Komisar broke today
and put ads like food dairy products as
00:21:16
well as services for example if somebody
says Komisar region accounts for 47
00:21:21
percent of Uganda's total exports with
00:21:23
a value of $1200000000.00 while imports
account for $600000000.00 they
00:21:30
starting to see within the region we are
exporting coffee sugar very much to Paul's
00:21:36
palm oil milk and put that but that's only
export those exports but they are also
00:21:43
services not only commodities you find
again and teachers in Zimbabwe nurses
00:21:49
mechanics so we are also exporting
services to the region Zambia Zimbabwe
00:21:56
set up all these countries Uganda equal
inputs commodities such as between products
00:22:02
cement and sort but somebody says for trade
is live for each member countries must
00:22:08
improve an infrastructure some countries
that both of us had to develop more other
00:22:14
than if I want to do business in China what
it means right end of transport How do
00:22:20
I through my goods then without ground
well stick up loud which is very stressful
00:22:26
so that friends I tell them she says
member countries also agreed to step into
00:22:31
a bank that will provide good facilities
for my terms within the region African
00:22:36
countries are also working on how many.
Tariffs and standards across the region for
00:22:42

00:27:43
It is Friday August the 3rd this is the
always international edition good to have
00:27:47
you here coming up Monday I'll go wins
barely though isn't Bob ways presidential
00:27:52
election no french me for the
opposition challenger who watched like
00:27:56
a very narrow margin earlier tonight to
challenge the results have negotiations
00:28:03
with Turkey to release a U.S.
00:28:04
Pastor hit
00:28:06
a snag. I think the way to be book about
the culmination of basically long term
00:28:12
efforts to try and get this back for your
front president and yes an Apple making
00:28:17
some trillion dollar
history plus the sounds of
00:28:20
a 12 year old You Tube social media
sensation. Hello everyone I'm Steve
00:28:27
Norman Zimbabwe's president Emerson mountain
God has won his country's presidential
00:28:32
race by
00:28:33
a small margin over the main challenger
Nelson Chamisa we always Lawry London as
00:28:39
Southern Africa correspondent Anita
Powell of the election results will be
00:28:43
challenged. Yes definitely this result
will be challenge that was evidence by an
00:28:48
uninvited guest who identified himself
the spokesman for opposition challenger
00:28:53
Nelson Chamisa and he said these results
are fake his issue was he said that the
00:28:58
results not been verified
by party only agent this is
00:29:01
a technical issue but nevertheless
00:29:02
a very important one and part of you know
part of the process of vote counting so
00:29:07
what the opposition M.D.C.
00:29:09
Alliance is claiming is that there were
irregularities and their polling agents
00:29:13
have different numbers than the official
count So ultimately what were the final
00:29:18
results what was the count ultimately
incumbent president ever someone Agogo has
00:29:22
won the election but it's
worth noting that was by
00:29:25
a razor razor thin majority is that by
razor thin margin rather he won with
00:29:30
50.8 percent of the vote which is just
enough legally for him to take office
00:29:37
without
00:29:37
a runoff because in order to win the
presidential election in Zimbabwe you have to
00:29:41
win 50 percent of the vote plus
one vote and 50.8 percent is just
00:29:48
over that line he won the
vote with total of 2000000
00:29:53
460463 votes which is just
over over half but just by
00:29:59
a hair so we we've already established that
it will definitely be challenge but in
00:30:04
a race like this one it is that
close do they automatically do
00:30:08
a recount like they would here in the U.S.
00:30:10
So Nelson Chamisa the opposition
challenger who lost by
00:30:14
a very narrow margin said earlier tonight
he plans to challenge the results but he
00:30:19
was very clear that he plans
to trolling results in
00:30:22
a legal constitutional and peaceful manner
so he will likely try to challenge the
00:30:27
election demand a recount demand
00:30:30
a 2nd look at the numbers and maybe have
some questions about the process so we can
00:30:36
look forward to that in the days weeks
or however long it takes and that will
00:30:40
likely be
00:30:41
a very controversial very closely watched
very detail. Very rumor filled process
00:30:47
that will probably really unsettle people
even further what is interesting is that
00:30:51
in the capital in Harare province which is
one of the Chen provinces in the country
00:30:56
Nelson Chamisa the opposition challenger
hounded Emerson and Gaga he won
00:31:01
548889 votes compared
to one God was 200 or
00:31:07
1710 votes and that's going to really
lead to some interesting politics going
00:31:13
forward because it's very clear that the
people in the capital who make the most
00:31:17
noise who are the most visible did not
want I'm assuming Gaga as their president
00:31:22
right a long time ago by a supporter or
maybe it would seem they are looking for
00:31:27
a fresh start well that's another interesting
thing so Mugabe came out and coyly
00:31:33
kind of passive aggressively and I think
that's fair to say passive aggressively
00:31:38
indorsed because he says he
could not vote for Zanu P.F.
00:31:42
After what they did to him he characterized
his departure as an outright clue.
00:31:47
That's the the wrench in the system here
that Mugabe was actually pretty much
00:31:53
endorsing chimneys that so it is worth
noting that in Mugabe's home province the
00:31:58
last province to be announced Michaud
and West God Well 11 that province with
00:32:04
312000 votes the Chinese followed with
217000 votes it wasn't may be is wide of
00:32:11
a margin as may be expected one wonders
how much the Mugabe effect took hold in
00:32:16
missional and West given the violence.
Given the violence that we have seen over
00:32:23
this deepening political crisis in the
past week I know it's early there have you
00:32:27
seen any indication that there could be
more outbreaks Well at this very moment as
00:32:32
we said it's the earliest hours of Friday
and the streets of Harare are very very
00:32:37
quiet what's worth noting is that on
Wednesday night the police said that they'd
00:32:43
invoked the public. Ordered Security Act
which basically gives the police the
00:32:47
authority to call in the army to help
restore order and that's you know quite
00:32:54
a big thing and quite intimidating to
a lot of Zimbabweans such a day and
00:32:58
a little bit on Wednesday also we saw
armored personnel carriers army armored
00:33:03
personnel carriers in the streets we saw
soldiers in the streets this evening as I
00:33:08
was coming on my way to the election
announcement I saw groups of soldiers roaming
00:33:13
the streets patrolling perhaps roaming
perhaps who knows and that's very
00:33:18
intimidating and that is sure to diminish
the museum for them for many people who
00:33:25
might be inclined to go
protest I mean it's quite
00:33:28
a deterrent. More importantly
we asked Nelson Chamisa
00:33:33
a few hours ago whether he would call
his people to the streets and he gave
00:33:37
a very enigmatic answer he said I can hardly
call my people to take to the streets
00:33:42
when my people are homeless and jobless and
they already live on the streets in the
00:33:46
streets of their home so he didn't say
yes or no he just kind of deflected that
00:33:52
question but he is trying to be is
going to challenge the recoiling
00:33:56
constitutionally not to protest you haven't
mentioned that yet but Shafiq Lee and
00:34:02
his Anita Paolo's the always southern

This is the always international edition
tensions between Nato members of the
00:35:24
United States and Turkey have met
Washington sanctions of 2 senior Turkish
00:35:29
officials over the continuing to tension
of American Protestant pastor Andrew
00:35:34
Bronson on terrorism and espionage charges
and lead counsel residence senior fellow
00:35:40
Aaron stai and tells We always Victor
Beatty there are reportedly have been
00:35:44
negotiations to resolve the matter
but the appeared to have hit
00:35:48
a snag. I think the way it should be looked
about is that this is the culmination
00:35:52
of basically long term efforts to try and
get this back abstracted Brunson released
00:35:57
and if you were to believe the
reporting on this there was
00:36:00
a Turkish reneging on the deal at the
last minute which prompted Mexico Torrie
00:36:05
cycle that resulted in these 2
men being sanctioned Is this
00:36:08
a matter of internal politics in Turkey
for the delay I mean it's really unclear
00:36:12
clearly something broke
down when to go see
00:36:14
a sense what the United States ultimately
became inconclusive but basically after 2
00:36:18
years of this this administration in
particular has personalize this issue to
00:36:23
release
00:36:23
a pass from the top priority and are looking
to gain leverage to try and bring him
00:36:27
home is there any indication Brunson is
in fact involved in some illegal activity
00:36:32
in Turkey if you can read Turkish and you
can look at the indictment it's farcical
00:36:36
so that doesn't preclude him from having
run afoul of the law although the
00:36:40
indictment the so poorly written full
of typos screwing up the nominations of
00:36:45
Christianity in the United States the
legend of all things to get can't fall it
00:36:48
seems fair to say that it is politicized
and probably not up to American standards
00:36:53
is he really just
00:36:53
a pawn in this whole issue of the Fed to
Laguna on extradition case my personal
00:36:57
hypothesis that's the hypothesis because
nobody knows the higher facts as they sort
00:37:01
of stumbled into this he was picked up by
an overzealous police officer where he
00:37:05
lives in Turkey other as he was renewing
his residency permit and things sort of
00:37:10
escalated from there and
so yes he has become
00:37:12
a pawn but largely by acts of comedy of
errors on all sides Turkey of course has
00:37:16
objected to the sanctions they only affect
2 officials though is this going to have
00:37:20
a big problem for Turkey that the lira
didn't all time low against the dollar I
00:37:24
mean I think the general economic downturn
is the biggest problem for Turkey the
00:37:29
risk of escalatory cycle with the
United States president how he
00:37:33
a quick sanctions on what would be the
equivalent of the attorney general and the
00:37:38
Department of Homeland Security just make
arrests and will have to appreciate the
00:37:42
lira well beyond her media economic
consequences of the sanctions which are just
00:37:47
limited to these 2 men given. What's
going on in Syria and of course Turkey's
00:37:51
stronger ties with Russia how
would you characterize U.S.
00:37:53
Turkish relations they're in
00:37:55
a downward spiral I mean we haven't hit
rock bottom clearly because I suspect the
00:37:58
Turks to retaliate and this after has
been released and the vice president has
00:38:03
indicated that the American side
will escalate that there is
00:38:07
a movement from the Turkish side so somebody
has to blink here you know until that
00:38:11
happens it's hard to hit the reset button

Program. Apple is the world's 1st publicly
traded company to be valued at one
00:38:43
trillion dollars that milestone
marks the latest triumph of
00:38:47
a trend setting company that was started
by Steve Jobs and Steve was D.X.
00:38:51
42 years ago we always David Burd ask
investment adviser Harley Kaplan of beta
00:38:57
industries employment Massachusetts what
is his read on the importance of this
00:39:02
milestone Well David if you ask me 35 years
ago when I 1st started if we would have
00:39:08
one trillion dollar company I don't think
I would have. Believed that now it
00:39:13
happened the glass ceiling has been broken
the laws of supply and demand went out
00:39:18
dictate the future. And all the
other companies felt he was
00:39:21
a trillion dollars I understand that
Amazon is hot on the heels of Tim Cook and
00:39:26
Apple Jeff Bezos his company is just
a couple of $100000000.00 behind or
00:39:31
a couple of $100000000000.00 rather behind
the one trillion dollar market so yes
00:39:36
and looking at their trajectory it would
seem that they will also be closing in on
00:39:41
a one trillion dollar mark just because of
their capacity to grow in the different
00:39:46
markets that they're looking to grow into
other than an emotional boost What does
00:39:50
this mean for Apple as
00:39:51
a company and for consumers who might want
to buy their products it doesn't really
00:39:55
mean much for consumers who want to buy
the product unless Apple becomes really
00:40:01
a true giant dominating the field. So if
there is competition in the field prices
00:40:07
will be held to reasonable levels and
consumer will benefit from this because not
00:40:13
only does Apple have the capacity to grow.
Domestically as its capacity to grow
00:40:18
internationally but also has the capacity
to grow innovation and that's really what
00:40:22
it comes down to is the consumer going to
benefit in the long run innovation will
00:40:28
help the consumer but so competition now
Apple has hung its fortunes on the i Phone
00:40:32
4 going on 11 years now while the i Pad
seems to have faded from view Tim Cook
00:40:39
very shrewdly though Apple is selling
fewer units than it was early in the
00:40:45
iteration of the i Phone It still makes
00:40:47
a profit now why is that while the
cost of production is so low you know
00:40:52
a lot of their production is in China some
of its in Mexico some of it's actually
00:40:55
dispersed throughout the world is the cost
of the goods that really dictates the
00:40:59
profits and this is a high margin
profit and it's hard and it's
00:41:04
a big sell for Apple it's in big demand
it's the gold standard there are some
00:41:11
competitors this Samsung but again Apple
seems to really hold the lead. On on
00:41:17
this and I don't see it
relinquishing that lead for quite
00:41:20
a while that leads into my next question
could the blossoming trade war between the
00:41:24
United States and China affect Apple's
future and what about increased tariffs on
00:41:30
products from Canada Mexico and the E.U.
00:41:32
That's a great question and the green one
it's a great question because Apple has
00:41:36
a lot of production in China and
00:41:38
a lot of markets in China I think at this
point with 20 percent of their sales are
00:41:42
and China and quite frankly
00:41:44
a lot of the growth is based upon the
growth of the Chinese market so they're
00:41:48
really going to be affected by the trade
issues that are being presented by
00:41:52
Washington we need to keep that in
context the trade issue is a is
00:41:57
a very serious issue the theft
of intellectual property is also
00:42:02
a major concern for Happel So this trade
tariff the debate that's going on between
00:42:08
the countries is real important one and
we're going to need to see how it works out
00:42:13
but unlike Amazon which most of their
products most of their sales are here in the
00:42:17
United States and really as
affected as Apple is being
00:42:21
a truly international company Apple certainly
has some future headwinds and what
00:42:26
kind of influence do you think
00:42:27
a trillion dollar company like Apple or
maybe Amazon or Microsoft will have on U.S.
00:42:32
Public policy you know David companies
have had influences on governments and
00:42:37
monetary sense and for centuries. I covered
in Plymouth Massachusetts so when the
00:42:44
stock company funded the pilgrims come
over here. And as you know Isabella funded
00:42:50
Columbus to discover America but more
important what we're seeing here is that
00:42:54
companies are intertwined with the
politics and they have to be because all
00:43:00
politics is local and I give
you a good example of that
00:43:03
a little while ago she was. The prime
minister of China was concerned about Z.T.
00:43:10
e Which is his telecommunication
company in China and it's
00:43:14
a company that's in his hometown he made
00:43:16
a big issue of dealing with that issue
with President Trump and saying that you
00:43:21
know we need to get access to your markets
so all politics is local and the and the
00:43:26
political parties are dominated by businesses
they have to be they have to be. In
00:43:33
even time in
00:43:33
a China business is still dictate some of
the terms hardly ever left anything out
00:43:38
of our discussion you think my audience
needs to know well I think what you
00:43:41
audience need to know is that what
we're looking at right now is it is
00:43:45
a whole different paradigm the markets the
stock market has not really performed
00:43:49
very well the last 15 years it's had
the credit crunch which really takes
00:43:55
a lot of wind out of its sails and it's
done so for about 10 years we're now
00:43:58
getting back to a normal unfortunately
a new normal was smote G.M.P.
00:44:03
Of 2 percent although we just had G.D.P.
00:44:07
Go up to 4 point one percent that's really
has not been the normal for the last 30
00:44:11
or 40 years so where we are looking at
00:44:13
a slower economy and before
but picking up and picking up
00:44:20
incrementally I do think that the market
will you know we have 2 counties in our
00:44:26
business the MOC will go up and walk it
will go down but eventually as we're seeing
00:44:29
now $35.00 yes now they'll
be even bigger companies and
00:44:33
a trillion dollars every camp Harley
Campbell that is an investment it buys
00:44:38
a reason with the industries in Plymouth
Massachusetts and he was speaking with the
00:44:42
always David Byrd this is Beale
way. This is because beat there are
00:44:49
some 19000 white rhinos left in the world
mostly in South Africa but their horns
00:44:55
remain hot on the black market for
poachers and hunters Chris gallery is the
00:45:00
coordinator of project rhino
00:45:02
a group trying to preserve the life of
the Rhino by sawing off the horns before
00:45:06
poachers do in terms of there are no deal
on them and we try and reduce that as
00:45:11
much as you can even say thing the horns
take off all the edges any valuable part
00:45:17
that he can and one rhino horn can fetch
$100000.00 and even though there's an
00:45:22
international ban on rhino horns demand
is high in parts of Asia for the horns
00:45:27
especially in Vietnam where it's believed
the horn offers medicinal value another
00:45:33
challenge the horns grow back like they
are nails after they're cut down by
00:45:36
conservationists which repeat
the procedure each year at
00:45:40
a cost of $1200.00 per RYAN Oh for
B.O.'s biz beat I'm Philip alexy yo.

Next an editorial reflecting the views of
the United States government as part of
00:54:28
its efforts to combat HIV the United States
intends to provide up to $90000000.00
00:54:34
to build secondary schools across Malawi
and additional funding to provide youth
00:54:39
friendly health services the US signed
00:54:42
a memorandum of understanding or ammo you
with Malawi in July to expand existing
00:54:48
secondary schools and install new secondary
schools throughout Malawi in the m.o
00:54:55
you the government I'm
00:54:56
a law committed to fund training and salaries
for teachers to staff the new schools
00:55:02
and maintenance of the new structures to
support the provision of youth friendly
00:55:07
health services near secondary schools to
incorporate comprehensive sex education
00:55:12
in the national curriculum to keep
young people HIV free and to enact
00:55:17
a phased in reduction of secondary
school tuition fees Malawi's minister of
00:55:23
education science and technology bright
and Sokka said I'm very excited to sign
00:55:28
this memorandum of understanding on the
expansion of secondary education we are
00:55:33
confident that this increase access to
education will reduce the transmission of
00:55:38
HIV to Malawi's youth and help us break
the back of the HIV epidemic Minister of
00:55:45
Foreign Affairs and International Affairs
Emmanuel Fabiano concurred saying this
00:55:50
will contribute to the sustainable socio
economic development of Malawi. Through
00:55:56
this commitment the United States in
Malawi will ensure more adolescent girls
00:56:00
attend secondary school which will
better keep them HIV free said U.S.
00:56:05
Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer
studies have shown that for every year
00:56:10
a girl attends secondary school her risk
of contracting HIV throughout her lifetime
00:56:16
decreases the 1st goal is to increase the
number of classrooms in urban secondary
00:56:22
schools across Malawi Malawi's program
will demonstrate the critical link between
00:56:27
girls' education and public health for the
rest of Africa and the world and provide
00:56:32
important benefits for Malawi's development.
But it was an editorial reflecting
00:56:39
the views of the United States government.

Of the votes received

00:05:28
half the number of votes cast in the
presidential election therefore. All of
00:05:35
the party is therefore Julie declared elected
president of the Republic of Zimbabwe
00:05:42
with effect from the 3rd of August
28th. What the ruling party
00:05:49
candidate who took power in November
after the military led push from
00:05:52
a got his resignation now faces
the challenge of ruling by
00:05:56
a razor thin mandate while trying to fix
an ailing economy wounded by years of
00:06:01
mismanagement fractured international
relations and the distrustful population that
00:06:06
has been clamoring for change both sides
it claimed victory shortly after Election
00:06:11
Day And as the results were announced
a man who identified himself as
00:06:14
a spokesman for chimney says Movement for
Democratic Change took the stage and made
00:06:18
his own announcement the man
identified by journalists as M.D.C.
00:06:22
Spokesman Morgan Kmita he was ushered out
by security. Matters that would mean that
00:06:27
I am as it could be very bad but I
was. Really upset I'm going to have.
00:06:36
That is that I was. Very flattered
by the. Earlier in the evening
00:06:43
Chamisa told journalists he was convinced
he had won he also accused Magog was side
00:06:48
of manipulating the poll and said he was
not interested in the unity government you
00:06:53
can't begin election. And you want
00:06:56
a venue that is the basis of engagement
deception and discipline Jimmie's the
00:07:01
handily won in the capital Harare by a
large margin and with more than half
00:07:05
a 1000000 votes his popularity here was
evident in the months leading up to the
00:07:09
poll his Ferrari rallies were exuberant and
well attended and on Wednesday hundreds
00:07:14
of his supporters thronged the election
commission demanding the release of results
00:07:19
protesters threw rocks as police fired
back with tear gas and water cannon later
00:07:24
army vehicles rolled through the streets
and soldiers were seen beating and
00:07:27
shooting at pedestrians police said 6
people were killed and 14 wounded at the
00:07:32
streets of central Harare
usually a hive of activity in
00:07:35
a snarl of traffic were eerily quiet there
are states soldiers and police manned
00:07:39
the streets and told shopkeepers to close
early and go home police also surrounded
00:07:45
opposition headquarters in central Harare
ratcheting up the tension even more Jimmy
00:07:50
said he planned to challenge the outcome
but in the courts not in the streets I do
00:07:55
a lot of things within the confines of
legality and the prosecution is for me as
00:08:00
a woman to make sure that we defend
and protect. For the 1st time
00:08:07
in nearly 4 decades and
Bob boy has elected
00:08:10
a president who is not Robert Mugabe but
will this change bring hope or despair and
00:08:15
you to Paul VI news Harari. The bubble
opposition Movement for Democratic Change
00:08:20
M.D.C.
00:08:21
Alliance is from going to challenge in
court the country's presidential election
00:08:24
results announced early Friday morning
on the ground the vote was fraudulent
00:08:29
incumbent President Emma
same Agoglia were declared
00:08:32
a winner with 50.8 percent
of the vote while M.D.C.
00:08:35
Nelson Chamisa came 2nd with 44.3 percent
of the vote Zimbabwean political analysts
00:08:41
rejoicing way Young says time is up perform
well in the presidential race but says
00:08:48
whatever mess so both sides may choose
to express their emotions he hopes it
00:08:52
doesn't lead to further violence.
Shocking because if you look at the
00:08:58
parliamentary election and not one
number go on leading by far the widely
00:09:05
be able to declare
00:09:06
a majority of the presidential race the
margin are very very close probably just
00:09:13
under 2 $100000.00 They're about that
which really shows that. What they're
00:09:20
if wrongly any division will rejoice what
is so nothing Chamisa say and the M.D.C.
00:09:27
Alliance what it is saying now their argument
against is that you know they retain
00:09:32
that coming from the problem do not
reflect the true picture of the numbers
00:09:39
that we submitted its national level they
probably have information that we don't
00:09:44
have but like I wanted insisted that if
you look at the compilation at one level
00:09:50
that is the kind of agent it would
really mean that never on time is
00:09:54
a waste of course because we
have to prove that we live in
00:09:59
a form that will find at what level you
North County we boarded the guys that were
00:10:04
prevented it makes me a live look which
would make sense because I'll give
00:10:08
a simple example Genpact to read with the
blood minus 30000 voters was showing an
00:10:15
exit of 85000 to one. Or is that
a no money compounded across
00:10:21
a number of constituents. We put a
commitment I've been talking about might be
00:10:27
a justification for
00:10:29
a litigation rejoice Mashona land
province was the last that the elections
00:10:34
commission counted we understand
that is the stronghold from
00:10:39
a president Robert Mugabe So you say that
nothing that did well in this than a P.F.
00:10:46
Stronghold I believe strongly. Affected
because we are so you know we would be
00:10:53
wrong entrenched tradition around
then appear with it given it was
00:10:58
a confident Mugabe not to come out
of. A vote of appreciation rejoice
00:11:05
as they bring this Friday morning in Zimbabwe
what are the people expecting in the
00:11:10
country well of an hour want to shy away
from my or an expectation then assuming
00:11:17
that you know for those in need on
people that voted to me said the young
00:11:23
people that it failed to
lead vote there will be
00:11:27
a lot of. Trepidation and to be back with
the city again is going to be starting
00:11:34
to. Work our crating really take it and
of course the public media and state
00:11:40
controlled media would be screaming
headline one member go are. All still
00:11:47
a great story the strong the only thing
that it was simply that they didn't know
00:11:53
any of the. Rejoice when yes
is in bubbling political
00:11:59
analysts who are speaking with me from

members of the Common Market for eastern
00:19:42
and southern Africa also know as common
economic bloc have agreed to use I.C.T.
00:19:47
To promote Street and business among
themselves I mean. Uganda's Minister for Trade
00:19:54
and Commerce says in Britain digitalization
will help much of the 21 member
00:19:59
countries to save money and time.
Reports from Kampala Uganda minister
00:20:06
but it too generous in
00:20:07
a couple of THIS WEEK that. To make
electronic payments and online she says this
00:20:13
will necessitate is
00:20:14
a communication and my sense across the
region who are not income and expenses who
00:20:20
are doing business among themselves.
00:20:30
And see. How many.
00:20:37
Things this thing. This so we are getting
that portal so that anybody what sense is
00:20:42
that information at that point that the
Internet would know where to get what and
00:20:47
what point the Komisar free trade area
stretches from Tunisia land and was formed
00:20:52
in December mentally deformed repressing
the preferential trade area or P.T.
00:20:57
Which existed since $981.00 with
00:21:00
a population of over $500000000.00 people
Komisar is what over $700000000000.00 of
00:21:05
G.D.P.
00:21:06
Comprising of the one member countries
of the Tunisia and Somalia were recently
00:21:10
added My turns across Komisar broke today
and put ads like food dairy products as
00:21:16
well as services for example if somebody
says Komisar region accounts for 47
00:21:21
percent of Uganda's total exports with
00:21:23
a value of $1200000000.00 while imports
account for $600000000.00 they
00:21:30
starting to see within the region we are
exporting coffee sugar very much to Paul's
00:21:36
palm oil milk and put that but that's only
export those exports but they are also
00:21:43
services not only commodities you find
again and teachers in Zimbabwe nurses
00:21:49
mechanics so we are also exporting
services to the region Zambia Zimbabwe
00:21:56
set up all these countries Uganda equal
inputs commodities such as between products
00:22:02
cement and sort but somebody says for trade
is live for each member countries must
00:22:08
improve an infrastructure some countries
that both of us had to develop more other
00:22:14
than if I want to do business in China what
it means right end of transport How do
00:22:20
I through my goods then without ground
well stick up loud which is very stressful
00:22:26
so that friends I tell them she says
member countries also agreed to step into
00:22:31
a bank that will provide good facilities
for my terms within the region African
00:22:36
countries are also working on how many.
Tariffs and standards across the region for
00:22:42
the news. Deficit cutting company Uganda.

00:27:43
It is Friday August the 3rd this is the
always international edition good to have
00:27:47
you here coming up Monday I'll go wins
barely though isn't Bob ways presidential
00:27:52
election no french me for the
opposition challenger who watched like
00:27:56
a very narrow margin earlier tonight to
challenge the results have negotiations
00:28:03
with Turkey to release a U.S.
00:28:04
Pastor hit
00:28:06
a snag. I think the way to be book about
the culmination of basically long term
00:28:12
efforts to try and get this back for your
front president and yes an Apple making
00:28:17
some trillion dollar
history plus the sounds of
00:28:20
a 12 year old You Tube social media
sensation. Hello everyone I'm Steve
00:28:27
Norman Zimbabwe's president Emerson mountain
God has won his country's presidential
00:28:32
race by
00:28:33
a small margin over the main challenger
Nelson Chamisa we always Lawry London as
00:28:39
Southern Africa correspondent Anita
Powell of the election results will be
00:28:43
challenged. Yes definitely this result
will be challenge that was evidence by an
00:28:48
uninvited guest who identified himself
the spokesman for opposition challenger
00:28:53
Nelson Chamisa and he said these results
are fake his issue was he said that the
00:28:58
results not been verified
by party only agent this is
00:29:01
a technical issue but nevertheless
00:29:02
a very important one and part of you know
part of the process of vote counting so
00:29:07
what the opposition M.D.C.
00:29:09
Alliance is claiming is that there were
irregularities and their polling agents
00:29:13
have different numbers than the official
count So ultimately what were the final
00:29:18
results what was the count ultimately
incumbent president ever someone Agogo has
00:29:22
won the election but it's
worth noting that was by
00:29:25
a razor razor thin majority is that by
razor thin margin rather he won with
00:29:30
50.8 percent of the vote which is just
enough legally for him to take office
00:29:37
without
00:29:37
a runoff because in order to win the
presidential election in Zimbabwe you have to
00:29:41
win 50 percent of the vote plus
one vote and 50.8 percent is just
00:29:48
over that line he won the
vote with total of 2000000
00:29:53
460463 votes which is just
over over half but just by
00:29:59
a hair so we we've already established that
it will definitely be challenge but in
00:30:04
a race like this one it is that
close do they automatically do
00:30:08
a recount like they would here in the U.S.
00:30:10
So Nelson Chamisa the opposition
challenger who lost by
00:30:14
a very narrow margin said earlier tonight
he plans to challenge the results but he
00:30:19
was very clear that he plans
to trolling results in
00:30:22
a legal constitutional and peaceful manner
so he will likely try to challenge the
00:30:27
election demand a recount demand
00:30:30
a 2nd look at the numbers and maybe have
some questions about the process so we can
00:30:36
look forward to that in the days weeks
or however long it takes and that will
00:30:40
likely be
00:30:41
a very controversial very closely watched
very detail. Very rumor filled process
00:30:47
that will probably really unsettle people
even further what is interesting is that
00:30:51
in the capital in Harare province which is
one of the Chen provinces in the country
00:30:56
Nelson Chamisa the opposition challenger
hounded Emerson and Gaga he won
00:31:01
548889 votes compared
to one God was 200 or
00:31:07
1710 votes and that's going to really
lead to some interesting politics going
00:31:13
forward because it's very clear that the
people in the capital who make the most
00:31:17
noise who are the most visible did not
want I'm assuming Gaga as their president
00:31:22
right a long time ago by a supporter or
maybe it would seem they are looking for
00:31:27
a fresh start well that's another interesting
thing so Mugabe came out and coyly
00:31:33
kind of passive aggressively and I think
that's fair to say passive aggressively
00:31:38
indorsed because he says he
could not vote for Zanu P.F.
00:31:42
After what they did to him he characterized
his departure as an outright clue.
00:31:47
That's the the wrench in the system here
that Mugabe was actually pretty much
00:31:53
endorsing chimneys that so it is worth
noting that in Mugabe's home province the
00:31:58
last province to be announced Michaud
and West God Well 11 that province with
00:32:04
312000 votes the Chinese followed with
217000 votes it wasn't may be is wide of
00:32:11
a margin as may be expected one wonders
how much the Mugabe effect took hold in
00:32:16
missional and West given the violence.
Given the violence that we have seen over
00:32:23
this deepening political crisis in the
past week I know it's early there have you
00:32:27
seen any indication that there could be
more outbreaks Well at this very moment as
00:32:32
we said it's the earliest hours of Friday
and the streets of Harare are very very
00:32:37
quiet what's worth noting is that on
Wednesday night the police said that they'd
00:32:43
invoked the public. Ordered Security Act
which basically gives the police the
00:32:47
authority to call in the army to help
restore order and that's you know quite
00:32:54
a big thing and quite intimidating to
a lot of Zimbabweans such a day and
00:32:58
a little bit on Wednesday also we saw
armored personnel carriers army armored
00:33:03
personnel carriers in the streets we saw
soldiers in the streets this evening as I
00:33:08
was coming on my way to the election
announcement I saw groups of soldiers roaming
00:33:13
the streets patrolling perhaps roaming
perhaps who knows and that's very
00:33:18
intimidating and that is sure to diminish
the museum for them for many people who
00:33:25
might be inclined to go
protest I mean it's quite
00:33:28
a deterrent. More importantly
we asked Nelson Chamisa
00:33:33
a few hours ago whether he would call
his people to the streets and he gave
00:33:37
a very enigmatic answer he said I can hardly
call my people to take to the streets
00:33:42
when my people are homeless and jobless and
they already live on the streets in the
00:33:46
streets of their home so he didn't say
yes or no he just kind of deflected that
00:33:52
question but he is trying to be is
going to challenge the recoiling
00:33:56
constitutionally not to protest you haven't
mentioned that yet but Shafiq Lee and
00:34:02
his Anita Paolo's the always southern
Africa correspondent she was speaking from
00:34:06

00:35:18
This is the always international edition
tensions between Nato members of the
00:35:24
United States and Turkey have met
Washington sanctions of 2 senior Turkish
00:35:29
officials over the continuing to tension
of American Protestant pastor Andrew
00:35:34
Bronson on terrorism and espionage charges
and lead counsel residence senior fellow
00:35:40
Aaron stai and tells We always Victor
Beatty there are reportedly have been
00:35:44
negotiations to resolve the matter
but the appeared to have hit
00:35:48
a snag. I think the way it should be looked
about is that this is the culmination
00:35:52
of basically long term efforts to try and
get this back abstracted Brunson released
00:35:57
and if you were to believe the
reporting on this there was
00:36:00
a Turkish reneging on the deal at the
last minute which prompted Mexico Torrie
00:36:05
cycle that resulted in these 2
men being sanctioned Is this
00:36:08
a matter of internal politics in Turkey
for the delay I mean it's really unclear
00:36:12
clearly something broke
down when to go see
00:36:14
a sense what the United States ultimately
became inconclusive but basically after 2
00:36:18
years of this this administration in
particular has personalize this issue to
00:36:23
release
00:36:23
a pass from the top priority and are looking
to gain leverage to try and bring him
00:36:27
home is there any indication Brunson is
in fact involved in some illegal activity
00:36:32
in Turkey if you can read Turkish and you
can look at the indictment it's farcical
00:36:36
so that doesn't preclude him from having
run afoul of the law although the
00:36:40
indictment the so poorly written full
of typos screwing up the nominations of
00:36:45
Christianity in the United States the
legend of all things to get can't fall it
00:36:48
seems fair to say that it is politicized
and probably not up to American standards
00:36:53
is he really just
00:36:53
a pawn in this whole issue of the Fed to
Laguna on extradition case my personal
00:36:57
hypothesis that's the hypothesis because
nobody knows the higher facts as they sort
00:37:01
of stumbled into this he was picked up by
an overzealous police officer where he
00:37:05
lives in Turkey other as he was renewing
his residency permit and things sort of
00:37:10
escalated from there and
so yes he has become
00:37:12
a pawn but largely by acts of comedy of
errors on all sides Turkey of course has
00:37:16
objected to the sanctions they only affect
2 officials though is this going to have
00:37:20
a big problem for Turkey that the lira
didn't all time low against the dollar I
00:37:24
mean I think the general economic downturn
is the biggest problem for Turkey the
00:37:29
risk of escalatory cycle with the
United States president how he
00:37:33
a quick sanctions on what would be the
equivalent of the attorney general and the
00:37:38
Department of Homeland Security just make
arrests and will have to appreciate the
00:37:42
lira well beyond her media economic
consequences of the sanctions which are just
00:37:47
limited to these 2 men given. What's
going on in Syria and of course Turkey's
00:37:51
stronger ties with Russia how
would you characterize U.S.
00:37:53
Turkish relations they're in
00:37:55
a downward spiral I mean we haven't hit
rock bottom clearly because I suspect the
00:37:58
Turks to retaliate and this after has
been released and the vice president has
00:38:03
indicated that the American side
will escalate that there is
00:38:07
a movement from the Turkish side so somebody
has to blink here you know until that
00:38:11
happens it's hard to hit the reset button

Program. Apple is the world's 1st publicly
traded company to be valued at one
00:38:43
trillion dollars that milestone
marks the latest triumph of
00:38:47
a trend setting company that was started
by Steve Jobs and Steve was D.X.
00:38:51
42 years ago we always David Burd ask
investment adviser Harley Kaplan of beta
00:38:57
industries employment Massachusetts what
is his read on the importance of this
00:39:02
milestone Well David if you ask me 35 years
ago when I 1st started if we would have
00:39:08
one trillion dollar company I don't think
I would have. Believed that now it
00:39:13
happened the glass ceiling has been broken
the laws of supply and demand went out
00:39:18
dictate the future. And all the
other companies felt he was
00:39:21
a trillion dollars I understand that
Amazon is hot on the heels of Tim Cook and
00:39:26
Apple Jeff Bezos his company is just
a couple of $100000000.00 behind or
00:39:31
a couple of $100000000000.00 rather behind
the one trillion dollar market so yes
00:39:36
and looking at their trajectory it would
seem that they will also be closing in on
00:39:41
a one trillion dollar mark just because of
their capacity to grow in the different
00:39:46
markets that they're looking to grow into
other than an emotional boost What does
00:39:50
this mean for Apple as
00:39:51
a company and for consumers who might want
to buy their products it doesn't really
00:39:55
mean much for consumers who want to buy
the product unless Apple becomes really
00:40:01
a true giant dominating the field. So if
there is competition in the field prices
00:40:07
will be held to reasonable levels and
consumer will benefit from this because not
00:40:13
only does Apple have the capacity to grow.
Domestically as its capacity to grow
00:40:18
internationally but also has the capacity
to grow innovation and that's really what
00:40:22
it comes down to is the consumer going to
benefit in the long run innovation will
00:40:28
help the consumer but so competition now
Apple has hung its fortunes on the i Phone
00:40:32
4 going on 11 years now while the i Pad
seems to have faded from view Tim Cook
00:40:39
very shrewdly though Apple is selling
fewer units than it was early in the
00:40:45
iteration of the i Phone It still makes
00:40:47
a profit now why is that while the
cost of production is so low you know
00:40:52
a lot of their production is in China some
of its in Mexico some of it's actually
00:40:55
dispersed throughout the world is the cost
of the goods that really dictates the
00:40:59
profits and this is a high margin
profit and it's hard and it's
00:41:04
a big sell for Apple it's in big demand
it's the gold standard there are some
00:41:11
competitors this Samsung but again Apple
seems to really hold the lead. On on
00:41:17
this and I don't see it
relinquishing that lead for quite
00:41:20
a while that leads into my next question
could the blossoming trade war between the
00:41:24
United States and China affect Apple's
future and what about increased tariffs on
00:41:30
products from Canada Mexico and the E.U.
00:41:32
That's a great question and the green one
it's a great question because Apple has
00:41:36
a lot of production in China and
00:41:38
a lot of markets in China I think at this
point with 20 percent of their sales are
00:41:42
and China and quite frankly
00:41:44
a lot of the growth is based upon the
growth of the Chinese market so they're
00:41:48
really going to be affected by the trade
issues that are being presented by
00:41:52
Washington we need to keep that in
context the trade issue is a is
00:41:57
a very serious issue the theft
of intellectual property is also
00:42:02
a major concern for Happel So this trade
tariff the debate that's going on between
00:42:08
the countries is real important one and
we're going to need to see how it works out
00:42:13
but unlike Amazon which most of their
products most of their sales are here in the
00:42:17
United States and really as
affected as Apple is being
00:42:21
a truly international company Apple certainly
has some future headwinds and what
00:42:26
kind of influence do you think
00:42:27
a trillion dollar company like Apple or
maybe Amazon or Microsoft will have on U.S.
00:42:32
Public policy you know David companies
have had influences on governments and
00:42:37
monetary sense and for centuries. I covered
in Plymouth Massachusetts so when the
00:42:44
stock company funded the pilgrims come
over here. And as you know Isabella funded
00:42:50
Columbus to discover America but more
important what we're seeing here is that
00:42:54
companies are intertwined with the
politics and they have to be because all
00:43:00
politics is local and I give
you a good example of that
00:43:03
a little while ago she was. The prime
minister of China was concerned about Z.T.
00:43:10
e Which is his telecommunication
company in China and it's
00:43:14
a company that's in his hometown he made
00:43:16
a big issue of dealing with that issue
with President Trump and saying that you
00:43:21
know we need to get access to your markets
so all politics is local and the and the
00:43:26
political parties are dominated by businesses
they have to be they have to be. In
00:43:33
even time in
00:43:33
a China business is still dictate some of
the terms hardly ever left anything out
00:43:38
of our discussion you think my audience
needs to know well I think what you
00:43:41
audience need to know is that what
we're looking at right now is it is
00:43:45
a whole different paradigm the markets the
stock market has not really performed
00:43:49
very well the last 15 years it's had
the credit crunch which really takes
00:43:55
a lot of wind out of its sails and it's
done so for about 10 years we're now
00:43:58
getting back to a normal unfortunately
a new normal was smote G.M.P.
00:44:03
Of 2 percent although we just had G.D.P.
00:44:07
Go up to 4 point one percent that's really
has not been the normal for the last 30
00:44:11
or 40 years so where we are looking at
00:44:13
a slower economy and before
but picking up and picking up
00:44:20
incrementally I do think that the market
will you know we have 2 counties in our
00:44:26
business the MOC will go up and walk it
will go down but eventually as we're seeing
00:44:29
now $35.00 yes now they'll
be even bigger companies and
00:44:33
a trillion dollars every camp Harley
Campbell that is an investment it buys
00:44:38
a reason with the industries in Plymouth
Massachusetts and he was speaking with the
00:44:42
always David Byrd this is Beale
way. This is because beat there are
00:44:49
some 19000 white rhinos left in the world
mostly in South Africa but their horns
00:44:55
remain hot on the black market for
poachers and hunters Chris gallery is the
00:45:00
coordinator of project rhino
00:45:02
a group trying to preserve the life of
the Rhino by sawing off the horns before
00:45:06
poachers do in terms of there are no deal
on them and we try and reduce that as
00:45:11
much as you can even say thing the horns
take off all the edges any valuable part
00:45:17
that he can and one rhino horn can fetch
$100000.00 and even though there's an
00:45:22
international ban on rhino horns demand
is high in parts of Asia for the horns
00:45:27
especially in Vietnam where it's believed
the horn offers medicinal value another
00:45:33
challenge the horns grow back like they
are nails after they're cut down by
00:45:36
conservationists which repeat
the procedure each year at
00:45:40
a cost of $1200.00 per RYAN Oh for
B.O.'s biz beat I'm Philip alexy yo.
00:45:51

00:51:48
with
00:51:48
a poor motherless girl in Asia to whom
Angelina gives her shoes and return the girl
00:51:55
promises to always pray for Angelina
according to undulated the book. It is based
00:52:00
on
00:52:00
a real incident and she cites it is the
reason why she always performs barefoot. I
00:52:11
. Don't like.

00:54:28
its efforts to combat HIV the United States
intends to provide up to $90000000.00

00:55:50

better keep them HIV free said U.S.
00:56:05
Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer
studies have shown that for every year
00:56:10
a girl attends secondary school her risk
of contracting HIV throughout her lifetime
00:56:16
decreases the 1st goal is to increase the
number of classrooms in urban secondary
00:56:22
schools across Malawi Malawi's program
will demonstrate the critical link between
00:56:27
girls' education and public health for the
rest of Africa and the world and provide
00:56:32
important benefits for Malawi's development.
But it was an editorial reflecting
00:56:39
the views of the United States government.
